First we find the physical unwinding and the force of self-organisation through little subtle exercises, mindful attention, breathing and touch. Then we develop our unwinding movement into our personal slow dance, where we can find freedom and effortlessness for body and mind. Moving from the parasympathetic part of the nerve-system helps you to sense to the organs and their embodied emotions and defines the pathway to a holistic development of our selves. Further on, when we get in contact with other dancers dancing our slow dance, we use this special movement quality into the form of contact improvisation taking the risk of really meeting someone else in an authentic way. Precision in the balance of “decision making” and “letting go” is being trained, so that we can surrender into the mind state of not wanting and not knowing. Giving and taking weight shows us how important we take ourselves and how important we take others. The play of tonus modulation teaches us the whole range of communication possibilities. We can be touched and we can be moved in our bodies and our souls. We can experience a connectedness within ourselves, with our dancing partner and with our further environment.

Let's dance the slow dance with us!

Dieter Rehberg developed his work from his experience as a performance artist, somatic movement therapist, massage therapist, psychological counsellor and teacher of anatomical embodiment and contact improvisation.
