For 18 years (1988-2005) Andrea Maciel deepened her studies in Ballet and "Muscular Dynamics“ with the teacher Ceme Jambay, who invented this method. He was principal dancer of the "Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro" and founder of the Ballet "Guaíra Theatre" in Curitiba. He was also soloist at the Swiss Grand Ballet du Théâtre de Genève, at the Austrian Ballet of the Opera in Graz and at the National Ballet in Venezuela.

The specific exercises of "Muscular Dynamics" are mostly executed on the floor in laying positions. The method concentrates on movement mechanisms of the musculature. The goal is to stimulate consciousness of the deeper musculature, which is responsible for our movements. The exercises gradually intensify the effort of our muscles with special attention to the bones alignment. Despite the musculature's hard work, softness and mildness are the main characteristics of this method. The exercises intend to develop strength, flexibility and coordination in a process in which, instead of working with too much strain, the musculature must flow. For these reasons "Muscular Dynamics" can be highly effective on injuries prevention.

"Muscular Dynamics" is called by its creator as "Previous Class" and is divided in three distinct stages. The first stage is basically characterized by legs and arms' joints movements with relaxed muscles. These movements initiate by the action of the feet and hands. The movements are performed with the intention to "liberate the joint structure". In the second stage, the activities include a particular muscle movement that is similar to the action of stretching, in which we make twisting and stretching movements with all body parts. The third stage focuses primarily up in meticulous footwork. Afterwards on developing the twists and stretches worked previously to achieve higher degrees of complexity in more chained and dynamic movements, which will be performed in a sitting position.
