IDOCs » Hunting & Gathering - Storytelling Towards Creating Performance
This score was given to the participants of ImPulsTanz workshop "Hunting & Gathering" facilitated by Defne Erdur in 2012. "Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, often with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishment. Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation and instilling moral values." Why not share them for self-reflective creative process?!

The whole process of the workshop can be found in this document that will be online soon...

Here you can find and play with the score of "storytelling" that was utilized for creating a small, ice-breaking performance at the beginning of the "Hunting & Gathering" workshop.

Remember the following is just a score. enjoy the ride - joyfully serious, seriously joyful!

- pick a stone (in this case I had a bag of various stones, you can have a visit to a park, garden, beach...)

- walk with the stone and listen to its story (who/what is it? where is it coming from? what he is doing here etc?)

- write down its story on a paper.

- tell the circle in the circle (if you do this score alone- can find a friend, a colleague to take this journey with you).

- tell it again with closed eyes as you are standing.

- choose a new space (preferably in another room, another building, out door etc).

- re-visit the story in this new space (either go over it for yourself or tell to/share it with friend/s - you decide; its your preperation).

- situate the story in this new space i.e. tell the story without using words (this is the final pefromance of the story).

- write the story of the whole process for your self (what worked verbal, non-verbal? was there any incident you would like to remember/keep and develop? did your friend/s share any feedback? do you wish to utilize these feedbacks towards digging deeper into the content/form you have proposed? etc).

- share the experience in the circle (if you do this score alone- can find a friend, a colleague to take this journey with you).

- decide on what you would put in your basket from the experience, written or mental notes for future playfulness!

if you like stones and would like to see another small play with stones around the theme of "place of intuition in teaching practice" you can visit the video on IDOCDE TALKS folder.
